Well, there are actually not that many intros and words we can say about every single release by Axel Rudi Pell. For the last 25+ years he is very punctual on his studio recording date and most especially with his trademark sound. I will be honest; if it was any other artist I’d have been bored a long time ago as he’s constantly doing the same thing. He has found a pattern and it drives you to a point where you might find yourself yelling: “Enough is enough”! But this would apply to any other artist…not Axel Rudi Pell. His music is so compelling and beautiful that you actually don’t have a choice but truly appreciating it!

“Sign of the Times” is really all of the above and more of the same. A typical – in the good old fashioned way- Pell record that probably lacks the level of quality and inspiration of the last three records…but only slightly! That doesn’t mean that it’s not a good and uplifting record. Standout tracks include “Wings of the Storm” (with its melodies), “Living In A Dream” (with the reggae connotations), the title track and “The Black Serenade” intro which is really mesmerizing.

Naturally, I recommend the purchase of the new Axel Rudi Pell record as it is again a remarkable effort and that’s something to be noted.
