Since releasing their eponymous debut album in 1984, Bon Jovi hasn’t made a habit oftaking time between albums, the longest stretch being five years between These Days (1995) and Crush (2000).
It should be no surprise then that, after roughly two years since the release of What About Now, Bon jovi is ready to launch Burning Bridges. Except Burning Bridges isn’t the next Bon Jovi album. It is the latest, though.
Yes, we’re confused, too. Let Jon Bon Jovi explain.
“My latest is not my next,’ Bon Jovi tells Scott Shannon in the Morning. “And it’s not that it’s a riddle.”
Well, it sure sounds like a riddle. Please elaborate, Bon Jovi.
“This is a fan record to accompany a twelve-show international tour. It’s songs that weren’t finished, that were finished, a couple of new ones like the one we released as a single (“We Don’t Run”),” says Bon Jovi. “It’s sort of a hint as to where we’re going musically, but the new album, the real new album, will be early next year.”
