MOTÖRHEAD was forced to cancel its performance at the Monsters Of Rock festivalin Brazil earlier today (Saturday, April 25) after the band’s frontman, Lemmy Kilmister, was taken ill. According to local media reports and festival organizers, MOTÖRHEAD’s appearance was called off a few hours before the band was scheduled to take the stage at Arena Anhembi, São Paulo because Lemmy was suffering from gastric distress and dehydration. Kilmister is reportedly undergoing tests at a local hospital and is unable to perform at this weekend’s event.
As a last-minute replacement for MOTÖRHEAD, the other two members of the band — guitarist Phil Campbell and drummer Mikkey Dee — will take part in a jam session with Andreas Kisser and Derrick Green of SEPULTURA, along with other guests.
