There was a time when Def Leppard hadn’t released a live album in 31 years of recording career…at least that was the case up until 2011. After that point, the Sheffield boys have come up with not one, not two but three live recordings. We are talking about “Mirrorball” (2011), “Viva Hysteria” (2013) and now “And There Will Be A Next Time” (2017). Times they are a changin’, of course and Def Leppard remains true to that phrase.

This new DVD/CD captures Leppard’s show in the motor city of Detroit. Personally, having witnessed the band on that tour, I must say that they are absolutely on fire! I really mean it! This is one of their best tours in the last 25 years and all the guys seem reenergized. The stage show is spectacular and the sound flawless and crystal clear. Let’s see some of the highlights:

For starters the live versions of the three “High N’ Dry” songs that they guys picked for us are some of the best I’ve ever heard from Leppard. “Let it Go” and “Bringin’ On The Heartbreak” sound phenomenal while “Switch 625” would surely make Steve Steamin’ Clark proud! Another cool aspect is the venue. This is an open amphitheatre that you don’t get to see often especially in the States. Last but certainly not least is the unbelievable and really touching version of “Hysteria”. I remember seeing it for the first time in Dublin (2015) and I burst into tears watching on the huge video wall those Def Leppard photos of the past…the late Steve, Rick before the accident, a healthy Viv etc. Those were the days, man….but you know what? Leppard are still going strong and this DVD is the undeniable proof!

All in all, this is yet another quality release by the Sheffield boys and the only question is…do you wanna get rocked?

Highlight: The bonus features include the 4 video-clips of the last studio album.
