Last night (August 2nd) English singer Nicky Moore, known for being the singer in NWOBHM legends Samson and Mammoth passed away. He was 75 years old.

Nicky started his career in the early ‘70s with Hackensack, while later he joined Jim Sullivan’s Tiger.

He replaced Bruce Dickinson in Samson in 1982 and joined Mammoth, who were formed by Gillan’s bassist John McCoy, with whom he released two albums.

He also formed his solo bands, The Nicky Moore Band and Nicky Moore’s Blues Corporation, which was the one that lasted the longest from 1994 to the present day. He also worked with several other artists appearing in albums, singles and various compilations.
