Cherie Currie has announced the release of her solo album “Blvds Of Splendor” on digital platforms for April 28 by Blackheart Records, which will feature several special guests. Billy Corgan, Slash, Duff McKagan, Juliette Lewis, Brody Dalle and Matt Sorum play on the album.
Matt says: “Cherie’s voice tells it all. She is the real deal. And now, more than ever, that voice tells the story of where’s she’s been in her life. This record is about who Cherie Currie is now. We’ve waited a long time to hear this icon of rock ‘n’ roll do what she does best. I’m very proud to be a part of this album by one of the best female singers of all time.”

The project started in 2010 while Cherie was promoting the movie “The Runaways” (if you haven’t seen it, do it!) starring Dakota Fanning, who plays Currie and Kristen Stewart as Joan Jett. In 2016, while the album was about to be released, she had an accident that paralyzed her face for 10 months. After the release of “The Motivator” in 2019, the way was opened for “Blvds Of Splendor”, which was released for last year’s Record Store Day in a red vinyl version in 3000 copies. This will be the first time the album will be available digitally and will be accompanied by three bonus tracks.
