Metallica dedicated “Whiskey In The Jar” to the great rocker, Phil Lynott, during their concert at Slane Castle in Meath, Ireland. After the show James Hetfield posted on his Instagram account a picture of him kissing Phil Lynott’s statue (which you can see above). For the record Metallica covered this traditional Irish song on their album “Garage Inc.” back in 1998 and won a Grammy for it in 2000 in the “Best Hard Rock Performance” category.
